Vera Čáslavská was a legendary Czechoslovak gymnast who dominated the sport in the 1960s. She won a total of 22 international titles, including seven Olympic gold medals, making her the most decorated gymnast in Czech history. Čáslavská’s graceful performances and impeccable technique earned her the adoration of fans worldwide. She also became an iconic figure of resistance against Soviet influence, notably during the 1968 Olympics, where her subtle political gestures during medal ceremonies symbolized her support for the Czechoslovak independence movement.
